New Additions to Parker Family

Meet Zeiger (after elementary school where we are registering Dane for kindergarten this week:) & Leopster (Cole's clever combo of Leopard species & Leapster brand)!! They finally arrived in the mail on Sat. except we didn't check until that night after circus...Nor was I prepped with spring water (vs outta faucet like we use for Betta). So after quick trip to store & gradual transition, they are adapting swimmingly! Boys obviously rolled outta bed & came straight downstairs to check on 'em...

Split Allegiance

Most of the madness in March thus far has come from challenge to coordinate our clothing between 2 of my fav college teams playing on the same day twice in one week:) I ended up devoting our color scheme wholly to the team that I thought were more of the underdog on the given day. Worked in our favor on Thurs, but not so much yesterday?! Here's how youngest cousins looked on Sat:

Today, however, we're all 'bout big red complete with breakaway Church clothes...Not tryin' to be blasphemous, but we were ready right after church to cheer on Nebraska women--up until they showed diff game on TV-oops! S'pose they thought we were gonna support SDSU here on the west coast, but I'm convinced it's 'cuz the Huskers would've dominated even if the boys were in their undies!?! Notice my boys were more than ready to strip down anyway & skip the photo shoot...Since we were dependent on the radio & got to drive Aunt Boop up the airport during halftime, here's re-cap from the Nebraska athletics official website: Freshman point guard Lindsey Moore hit the first of the Huskers' 10 threes and finished 2-of-4 from long range to close the night with 10 points. She also dished out five assists without committing a turnover, and notched two steals and two rebounds!!!

No Lions, But Tigers & Bears--Oh My!

It's been 5 yrs since we last ventured to the "free" circus...I decided it was worth the adult admission since the boys got in without charge--Dane had no choice but to go along for the ride when he was 3 mos old, but Luke's age made him a little more restless; however, acts kept their attn for the most part:) Please ignore the facts that we look like a hot mess but fit right in with rest o' spectators! Plus camera wasn't cooperating & camerawoman was clueless so missed a lot o' good ones. Nevertheless pictured here 'cuz I know you're gonna sleep better having seen 'em:

Ginormous white tiger
Pretty pathetic clown helping cotton-candy colored dog do moon walk:) His cohorts danced around more on 2 feet more than standard 4 & even featured boxing duel?!
Kinda creepy in an entertaining way:)
Boys checking out cage in which the grand finale featured not one, but two motorcyclists
cruising around @ once!
The circus mgmt are no fools though & compensated for free admission once in the gate
c/o elephant ride for the younger 2--wanted to accom them, but dudes in charge weren't feelin' very generous & Luke was cool with big bro behind him:)

& picture with a bear during intermission!
They actually took one close-up for us, but these were mine on the side--

Aside from somewhat burlesque trapeze-type "artists", we thoroughly enjoyed the show & turned out better than the BYU game that we had to miss on TV @ the same time!

Say, I Like Green Eggs & Ham

Notice the fine print-ugh! As luck would have it, missed out on shamrock shakes from McD's for 2nd yr in a row on St Patrick's Day 'cuz apparently distribution center ran outta the syrup in advance?! The boys & I were furious after trying 2 locations only to hear not possible to purchase the ever popular holiday treats, but they didn't complain with my homemade version o' mint-flavored green milk (although should've learned by now that a lil' goes a long way in the ole' flavoring=strong stuff!!:) Not much else to report re: day's festivities, but how do you follow exciting posts re: NCAA tourney & Disneyland anyway??? Failed to call my Irish friend for details on how to celebrate authentically, then reflected for a moment re: potential for having bad luck IF NOT Irish on St Patrick's Day?! Managed to put on both black boots over my cool shamrock socks; however, should've known it would go awry when boys opted outta Lucky Charms for breakfast--Cole considered green icing on pop-tart sufficient:) Also have yet to rec've our pkg o' green tadpoles in the mail...Otherwise just made sure we were adorned in green-Obviously didn't get a pic of 'em this very day before bathtime, but Cole did bring that hat back out for school, Luke did sport that rugby and is featured with his namesake not to mention Dane is known to have that expression frequently so close enough:)Also kept with green eggs & ham tradition albeit @ 7:30P by time dinner actually served, even later for video version after Cole completed homework (writing re: 3 wishes if encountered leprechaun:)! o' mcwell!

We got Dubs on the PAC-10 Championship!

Watching all this basketball @ once is exhausting:) So don't worry if I can't stay awake long enough to watch the replay of the first game in the tourn let alone fast forward my old-school recorded version...could have something to do with fact that I had to play catch-up with reg Thurs line-up not to mention finally watching Weds' Amer Idol (latter during which I also fell asleep-do you see a sad geriatric pattern forming? ugh! prob gonna be a wild party @ our house tonight eh? But @ least I've gotten 2 good runs in this week after long hiatus from good ole' cardio) Anyway, found out online bright & early this am that they did, in fact, win first round despite being repeat tour of their last reg season opponents. Now we will be cheering 'em on tonight vs the Cardinal!! We're in purple of course-even @ work:) Everyone knows that'll be the case on Fri until I have to wear a uniform, then I will just have to find purple n' gold accessories! T'was a bit of conflict since red Cornhuskers play @ 9a (hope you check 'em out during Big 12 Champ on FSN as well!!), but I can't picture what the boys are wearing today or else you'll get a sneak peek of their Easter attire:) Gotta love March Madness!! Let it begin...if only I could convince Sound Oral Surgery to play it on the flat-screen in the waiting room:)

These Boots Are Made For Workin'...

& that's just what they'll do--never mind if I wore 2 different kinds to work?! Each day since I started this job has been like a Choose Your Own Adventure...only it's the beginning vs ending! So guess it was my turn to complicate the AM sit instead of the boys: Grabbed my boots in the dark closet while holding Luke & proceeded to put 'em on while sitting in my dark room. Crazy part was I didn't even notice until 'bout 11A in the office & of course, couldn't keep my silly mistake to myself. Obviously if I can feature my crazy growth last summer on the blog, ain't too proud to post:) Thought it would be entertaining on an otherwise typical Thurs. and further proof that I am ready for a weekend:)
